我县已大面积推广玉米大垄双行覆膜栽培（简称“大双覆”）多年，为了进一步提高产量，从１９９６年开始进行玉米“大平台”覆膜栽培模式的探讨，经过试验证明，此项技术较玉米“大双覆”增产１５．１％～２４．１％。其主要优点为：①减少整地次数，降低生产成本；②增加受光面及保温效果；③适当增加单位面积株数，并且通风效果仍然很好；④利于蓄水保墒及机械作业，特别是解决了三、四轮拖拉机适水作业压别人地的情况。其栽培关键在于：①选择肥茬，精细整地；②选好品种，合理密植；③催芽坐水，适时早播；④增施肥料，加强管理。经过一系列的试验，已形成了一整套完整的栽培模式，并得以在全县推广。
