As a classic anthropological documentary in China, the “Three Kinds of Grass” presents the last legendary life of Mrs. Mosuo Xiao Shuoming on the banks of the Lugu Lake. Around her, she started a series of Mosuo traditional life pictures, The primitive farming culture of the clan has a heavy historical and plight. The documentary is narrated in two lines, one is Xiao Shuming was forced into the Lugu Lake early in the year, and one is Xiao Shuming trying to send his granddaughter Lazhu out of the Lugu Lake. As a result, the widow of the Tusi in the Republic of China, as a multi-identity life individual, became the symbol carrier of multicultural conflicts and integration. By narrating the perspective of modernity and the relativity of the three grass species, the film shows that Mosuo traditional culture and Han modern culture are a difficult problem in the multi-cultural integration. The future development of Mosuo culture should follow the comprehensive development of non-heritage projects.
