螺旋管温控器常用于恒温设备。因使用年久或偶然事故,温控器中的蜗轮往往磨损或烧毁,影响恒温设备的使用。其实在多数情况下,温控器中由绝缘板制成的蜗轮并未全部损坏,只要残存的蜗轮尚有5～6个完好的牙齿,用手摇钻和锉刀等简单工具便可使坏损的蜗轮恢复原有功能。这是因为温控器在正常工作时,仅利用蜗轮上的5～6个牙齿,其余牙齿的好、坏、有、无并不影响对温度的控制(见图1)。只要将完好的牙齿换到与蜗杆相接处,重新固定可调接点,便可使温控器复原。
