众所周知,在50m以内或者50～100m这样的近距离作战时,霰弹枪反应迅速、火力密度大,作战效能强。这一点在伊拉克战场上表现得极为明显,敌对一方不惧怕M16自动步枪,不惧M4卡宾枪,他们真正惧怕的倒是军用霰弹枪。MPS公司研制的AA-12全自动霰弹枪(Auto Assault-12)武器系统将霰弹枪的威力发挥到了极致,4秒钟内即可将20发弹鼓内的弹药全部射出,而且其采用先进的减后坐技术,可感后坐极低,甚至可以将其搭载在微型无人直升机上形成一个无人作战平台,实乃城市作战之利器。AA-12配上ECC公司和AMI公司研制的FRAG-12高爆弹族,更是如虎添翼。
