The symposium on forest diseases hosted by the Chinese Society of Forestry was held in Chengdu from 3 to 10 June 1979. A total of 133 representatives of experts, professors, young and middle-aged scientists and technicians, leading cadres and intelligence, propaganda and publication departments engaged in forest disease work in all provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities) in the country attended the meeting.
