In the early days of the war of resistance against Japan, the heavy task of party member development work evolved under the pressure of layers of party committees at all levels to develop the surprise work of party members. Due to the pressure of Party members’development tasks and facing the development of party members with rich local consciousness, some Party members were forced to attract party members in the circle of acquaintances. Some Party members had to use the villagers’ appeal to improve their lives to mobilize the public. Party members have different motivations for joining the party at this stage: joining the party based on class beliefs, joining the party for the resistance against Japan, joining the party for solving individual problems, or joining the party because of their relatives or friends. While the number of party members surged, the quality of party members inevitably declined. The development of party members in the early period of the war against Japan has an important enlightenment on the work of party building at the present day: we should correctly handle the issue of quantity and quality in the development of party members; it is necessary to absorb new members from the organization; moreover, to strengthen the ideological and political education of party members so as to ensure that party members’ Enter the party.
