2017年10月23日,菲律宾最大码头运营商菲律宾国际集装箱码头服务公司(International Container Terminal Services Inc,ICTSI)主席兼总裁小恩里克·瑞宗(Enrique K.Razon Jr)签署伊拉克乌姆盖斯尔北部港口巴士拉码头(Basra Gateway Terminal,BGT)二期扩建协议。根据协议,巴士拉码头将新建2个泊位,并配备面积约20公顷的堆场。待建成后,该码头年通过能力可增加60万TEU,至120万TEU。此外,为允许10 000 TEU船舶靠泊,该码头还将配置相应的码头前沿及集装箱陆运装卸系统,同时加上毗邻的27号泊位,该码头
On October 23, 2017, Enrique K. Razon Jr, chairman and president of Philippines Container Terminal Services Inc (ICTSI), the largest terminal operator in the Philippines, signed Iraqi Umm Qais Second Phase Expansion Agreement for BGT Basra Gateway Terminal. Under the agreement, two berths will be set up at Basra Wharf, with an area of about 20 hectares. Upon completion, the terminal will be able to increase its annual capacity by 600,000 TEUs to 1.2 million TEUs. In addition, in order to allow berthing of 10,000 TEU vessels, the terminal will also be equipped with a corresponding wharf frontage and container ground handling system, along with the adjacent berth No. 27,
