Something is actually invalid, but you believe it works and thus has a positive effect. This is what we call the placebo effect. This effect is particularly prevalent in medicine. It was reported in the newspapers that a doctor gave a medicine to a patient and said that the medicine would be very effective. As a result, the patient’s condition really improved. In fact, the medicine given to the patient by a doctor is just a piece of sugar. In theory, the placebo effect is the result of “expected effect ”. For example, patients expect their tablets (in fact, they do not know the truth) to improve their condition, so they feel better about themselves.
