According to Lu Xun’s statement, “world literature”, a mission to “take fire” for Chinese new literature, has launched its fiftieth anniversary. With its predecessor, the “translation” of the 1930s, the professional journal with the mission of introducing foreign literary works and theories accompanies the Chinese new literature through almost its entire development process. Several generations of literary writers, with their grateful feelings, recall how much more or less they benefit from this spiritual granary at their different stages of development. Taking me as an example, the study of foreign literature in youth can avoid the popular influence of the so-called “western centralism.” I can not but thank the first name “translation” for my knowledge of Latin America and Eastern European literature in the Soviet Union. Later renamed the current “World Literature” Editorial comrades with the help.
