胡锦涛同志在全国政协十届四次会议期间指出,要引导广大干部群众与青少年树立和坚持以“八荣八耻”为主要内容的社会主义荣辱观。树立和坚持社会主义荣辱观是落实科学发展观的内在要求,是建设社会主义和谐社会的重要环节,是保持党的先进性的坚实保障。树立和坚持社会主义荣辱观,从根本上说,必须首先树立和坚持正确的社会主义利益观,正确处理公共利益与个人利益的关系。为此, 必须在认识层面宣传和提倡社会主义利益观,在制度层面制定统筹兼顾的利益调节政策,建立健全公平的利益博弈机制。
During the fourth session of the Tenth CPPCC National Committee, Comrade Hu Jintao pointed out that it is necessary to guide the broad masses of cadres and the people and young people in establishing and upholding the socialist concept of honor or disgrace with “eight honors and eight disgraces” as the main content. Establishing and upholding the socialist concept of honor or disgrace is an intrinsic requirement for implementing the scientific concept of development, an important link in building a harmonious socialist society, and a solid guarantee for maintaining the party’s advanced nature. To establish and uphold the socialist concept of honor and shame, we must first of all establish and uphold the correct concept of socialist interest and correctly handle the relationship between public interests and individual interests. To this end, we must publicize and advocate the socialist interest concept at the level of awareness, make all-around interest adjustment policies at the institutional level, and establish and perfect a fair game mechanism of interests.
