Soil respiration is an important part of the carbon cycle in terrestrial ecosystems. Understanding the spatial heterogeneity of forest soil respiration is the basis for estimating the carbon sources and sinks of the entire terrestrial ecosystem. The paper summarizes the research progress and influencing factors of soil respiration spatial heterogeneity in forest ecosystems and the main methods for studying the spatial heterogeneity of soil respiration.
