The French National Institute for Statistics (IANI) used econometric models to estimate the economic prospects of France before 1983, noting the dependence of France on foreign markets, including oil imports. Imports to cover exports in 1973 were 100%, 1974-90%, 1976- 1977- 100%. The average annual growth rate of the world economy was estimated at 3.2% between 1976 and 1983, while the average annual growth rate of the French economy during this period was 3.7%. The article holds that under the favorable conditions, the growth rate of the world capitalist economy will reach 4.2% after 1980 and France will reach 4.8%.
