In recent years, Poland’s rapidly growing shipbuilding and ocean shipping industries have drawn increasing attention. The natural environment in Poland is blessed with the development of shipbuilding and maritime transport. Among the European democracies, Poland is one of the longest coastline countries. The waves of the Baltic Sea impact almost all of its northern borders, with 498 kilometers of coastline. The famous port of Guinea and Gdansk is located on the east coast; the newest coast of the West Coast is also a well-known important port. The three largest and most important ports are in close connection with the two major rivers that run north-south respectively across the country. Sinsuchin is located near the mouth of the Oder, and Gdansk and Champigny are at the end of Vistula. Long stretches of coastline, harbor, and navigable waterways all set the stage for Poland’s maritime and shipbuilding industries.
