Early March 1951 (?) Ted Roach, the deputy secretary of the Australian Wharf Workers’ Federation, was sentenced to imprisonment for one year by a Australian court because he published an article in the docker’s newspaper The book “flouts” the government’s arbitration tribunal. Dockers in Sydney, Bliss and Dumontville immediately halted lifting and strike protests. The government threatened to cite criminal law to deal with dockers and coal miners, who already had a week-long strike because the government refused to give them the wages they could to keep their lives. Criminal law stipulates that all workers who refuse to work may be sentenced to one year’s imprisonment. These events reflect the current situation in Australia. On the one hand, there is open fascism to the Australian government (?), While on the other hand the fighting and solidarity of the workers are on the rise.
