美国1990年通过的营养标签和教育法(NutritionLabeling and Education Act of 1990)要求在1993年公布实施食品标签法规。1993年1月6日美国食品药品管理局(FDA)和农业部食品安全监督局(FSIS)将最后决定的食品标签法规公布在联邦登记(FederalRegister 58卷第3号)上。两部门虽尽量协调,但仍有差异。此法规也适用于国外进口的食品,现简述如下:
The Nutrition Labeling and Education Act of 1990, passed by the United States in 1990, required the publication of the food labeling regulations in 1993. January 6, 1993 The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the Department of Food Safety Supervision (FSIS) of the Ministry of Agriculture publish the final food labeling regulation in the Federal Register (Federal Register 58, Vol. 3). Although the two departments as much coordination as possible, there are still differences. This regulation also applies to imported food, are summarized as follows:
