通过对长韶娄高速公路边坡施工过程的跟踪及研究,发现本地区广泛分布红粘土的矿物组成、物理力学特性、化学组分与其它地区的红粘土存在某些共同特征,也存在明显的区别。如本项目红粘土PH值较低,土中蒙脱石及石炭系钙质砂岩泥盆系砂质岩含量较高,红粘土多呈弱~强膨胀性,灰岩属于强风化岩遇水易泥化。对边坡成型及稳定极为不利,施工结果表明采用简单的生态防护,边坡反复垮塌稳定效果不显著;根据试验和施工经验,建议对部分红粘土及膨胀岩段落采用卸载放缓边坡结合变截面圬工防护处理保证边坡稳定。
