加强党的先进性建设,是加强和改进党的建设的长期任务和永恒课题。马克思主义经典作家历来就高度重视党的先进性问题,并不断地丰富和发展了党的先进性的理论,为马克思主义政党保持和发挥先进性提供了思想基础和理论指导。建立健全保持共产党员先进性的长效机制,是适应时代变化和实践发展的要求,是努力加强党的先进性建设,提高党的执政能力,巩固党的执政地位的一个重大举措和根本途径。在总结实践经验和深入研究的基础上,提出了“8+1”的保持共产党员先进性长效机制链,并按此模式,对重庆各区县(自治县、市)、市级部门在开展共产党员先进性教育活动中好的做法和典型经验进行了梳理和总结。
