1982年10月,在我们刚从航校毕业到地处大西北的某航空兵运输团不久,一场突发的直升机夜航停车事故,使我经历了一次生与死的考验。能在夜间飞行,是一个合格飞行员所应具备的技术条件之一。所谓“全天候”飞行员,是指在四种气象条件下均能遂行训练和作战任务的飞行员,即:在昼间简单气象、昼间复杂气象、夜间简单气象和夜间复杂气象。“全无候”既是一种技术标准,也是一种资格。进入夜航飞行训练,是成为全天候飞行员一个不可缺少的重要环节,也是成为合格的“高原之鹰”所要迈出的第一步。
