西洋参(Panax quinquefoium L.)是五加科(Araliaceae)人参属(Panax Linn)植物,原产于美国和加拿大。由于西洋参具有与人参不同的药用特性,如养阴补气、清肺、降血压等作用,同时又是高级补品,我国于1975年开始从原产地引种栽培,为了使西洋参在我国得到更快的发展,我们建立了西洋参种源基地。经过在基地多年的研究和实践,单产达到1.585kg/m~2, Panax quinquefoil L. is a plant belonging to the genus Araliaceae Panax Linn native to the United States and Canada.
