The existing “Specifications for Design of Concrete Structures” specifies the recommended values for the spacing of concrete structural expansion joints within 30m for the shrinkage deformation of concrete due to temperature changes. With the deepening of theoretical research on concrete cracks and the accumulation of engineering practice experience, a gradual breakthrough has been made in the proposed value of the specification, and a large number of projects have been developed with little or no seams. Practice and theory prove that it is feasible to have few or no seams. Its advantages: First, it creates favorable conditions for satisfying the aesthetic appearance and functional requirements of buildings to the utmost; Second, it enhances the structural integrity.
