甘薯(红苕)是我省主要粮食作物之一,是山区人民的“半年粮”.苕尖越冬作种是红苕留种方式的重大革新.它具有省种、早栽、抗旱、高产、防病、复壮、加速良种繁殖推广等优点,是多、快、好、省发展红苕生产的新途径.但是,苕尖越冬苗作种会不会引起种性退化,目前的看法尚有分歧.我们经过三年多点试验及室内分析的研究,初步肯定每亩产量苕尖苗比薯块苗作种增产11.7—46%;苕尖苗比薯块苗总糖含量增加比率为1.05—18%、淀粉为1.64—6.6%、干物质为1.68—6.63%,维生素C为2.98—18.38%,蛋白质为16.57—28.31%,过氧化氨酶活性和抗病力增强,生活力提高,种性没有表现出退化.
