北陵的山不高,但有仙,即在此修炼的林氏真仙和马氏真仙,山上有为纪念此二仙的“仙殿”。北陵原名北山,在永安的吉山。北山这名儿太俗气、太土气,有九个书院、书斋(在北陵上就有“万钱斋”、“清闻堂”、“云栖山房”等),明清时期出过190多名秀才、举人、进士的吉山,忍受得了这样俗气的名字吗?于是乎,就改为北陵。有《永安县志》为证:“北陵,即旧志北山。”北陵是有文化底蕴的,摩崖石刻就有22处,不似有些刚开发的风景区,胸无点墨。北陵像个有文化的质朴而美丽的村姑。北陵所见第一处石刻,就是“飞鸿桥”。石桥横跨山沟,“飞鸿桥”3个大字刻在桥
