As early as the Eastern Han Dynasty, China invented papermaking. Not long after Cai Lun improved papermaking, North Korea and Vietnam had paper. However, in a modern society where industrialization is advanced, the future of handmade paper is not optimistic. The Dó paper has been widely used in Vietnam since the 13th century.
