通化地区位于东经125°15′—128°17′30″,北纬40°51′40″—43°之间,属于寒温带。年平均气温3.8℃左右,年生长期135天左右,年平均降雨量700—800毫米。长白山的龙岗山脉及其分支老岭山脉,纵贯全境,地形较为复杂。山地的土壤多为山地灰棕壤、山地棕黄土、山地砂石土;沟谷平原多为冲积土、黑土、草炭土、灰黄土。全区有松花江、鸭绿江、浑江、梅河、辉发河等大小七十多条河流。自然条件为树木生长提供了有利条件。我们地区的杨树引种试验工作,是从七十年代初开始的,先后引进杨树上百种。首先在
