OBJECTIVE: To investigate the response of three kinds of mice (mouse A, prairie B, and gerbil C) to hepatitis E virus (HEV). Methods: The Apodemus agrarius, which was caught in the epidemic area, was infected. The infected rabbits B and C after artificial feeding and breeding were infected with HEV. The first three kinds of mice were challenged with A, B, The second time infected with HEV infected mice and B rat liver tissue attack, observe a variety of reactions. Results: After the first attack, the clinical manifestations were less and less severe, only 20% of B rats showed apathetic symptoms, all of A, B and C mice had dementia, C and C detoxified HCV RNA 25% and hepatic tissues generally Pathological response (30% ~ 100%). Only B rats were found dead after infection (50%). CONCLUSION: HEV can be infected in all three kinds of rats in experiment, and its role in transmission should be emphasized and animal models should be screened out.
