位于云贵高原东部、武陵山区腹地的梵净山,历来都是贵州重要的茶产区。梵净山产茶的历史据现有资料可上溯至西周时期,其产茶的历史见诸《尚书》《华阳国志·巴志》及《茶经》等种类史籍。梵净山茶在唐宋时已闻名于世,被载入茶圣陆羽的《茶经》,梵净山荼成为贡茶,也最早见于宋代乐史的《太平寰宇记》。明清时梵净山茶达到鼎盛,并延及近代。新中国后,梵净山茶的栽培面积进一步扩大,分布广,品种多,茶产业初具规模,为现代茶产业的发展奠定了坚实的基础。
