中国最早开辟的国际大通道南方丝绸之路,从四川进入云南以后,出昆明,经大理、保山、腾冲,就来到了中国段的终点盈江。自古以来,盈江都是边陲要地、古道重镇,明代在盈江等地设立了八关九隘,住兵防守,护卫商旅。同时还设立了干崖宣抚使司和盏达副宣抚使司镇守于此。近600年来,盈江各族人民据守雄关,与各国侵略者进行了可歌可泣的斗争,保障了祖国边疆的安宁。随着时代变迁,祖先的背影在亚热带丛林中缓缓离去,青石板的道路上蹄印深深,天朝的神关在历史的苍烟中消亡。那是一个古老民族曾经青春的岁月,在猎猎风中,闯荡四方,沿着一条条道路,把中华文明的曙光洒向世界。古道雄关,昨天的长河落日;夕阳下的断碣残碑,筑成了民族凤凰浴火的祭坛。
