视听技术是大众传播技术的早期形式,其发明及应用带领世界走进了大众传播时代.作为美国教育技术的发端,视听教育贯穿于整个20世纪,为教育技术的发展提供了基础,经历了运动式发展到冷静、落幕的过程.不过,视听技术很好地融入了后来发明的计算机等信息技术中(虽然也还独立存在),因此回顾这段历史对未来仍具现实意义.美国20世纪视听教育的期望影响和现实影响之间有着显著的反差:每种视听技术的诞生都会引发商家、政府、研究者等的关注与推行,期望对教育产生变革性影响,但视听教育仅停留在实验阶段或小范围应用状态.探索其背后的原因对
