土大黄与牛西西及牛耳大黄为三种不同的药材,不同的医药书籍和地区在对这三种药材的名称、来源、叙述功效及应用上存在着混淆现象。三者见于医药典籍的年代不同,植物来源及产地亦不同。从药物功效来看,三者虽有相同之处但也有明显差异。建议中医师在引用前人的经验遣方用药时,一定要先考证其出处和年代,并根据当今的用药规范,准确书写药名,以保证用药的准确有效。同时,建议在新修订的《北京市中药饮片炮制规范》下册中将旧版中的土大黄重新命名,即将蓼科植物巴天酸模RumexpatientiaL的根命名为“牛西西”;将蓼科植物皱叶酸模Rumexcrispus L.的根命名为“羊蹄根”或“牛耳大黄”。另增“土大黄”条目(《中药大词典》中所载蓼科植物土大黄Rumexmadaio Mak根)。

At the same time, it is recommended that the old version of Rumex be renamed in the newly revised “Standards for Preparation of Chinese Medicinal Chinese Herbal Pieces in Beijing”, namely, the root name of Rumexpatientia L, the plant of the family Lauraceae, is called “Niuxixi”. The root of Rumex rispus L. is named as “Radix root” or “Raucus rhubarb”. Another item of “Titanium” is included (“Rheumaceae Rumexmadaio Mak” in the “Chinese Dictionary”).
