近年来,传演或改编、新演焦(敫)桂英的戏越来越多了,新创作的就有京剧《沉海记》《青丝恨》,听说新改编的昆曲《焚香记》,也将在今年问世。因此,如何演好焦(敫)挂英这个人物,至关重要。笔者仅就亲身所见所闻,介绍一下已故的著名川剧艺术家阳友鹤在《情探》中的表演,供同行们参考。阳友鹤为在《情探》中扮演焦桂英,有他一个“积学储宝”的准备过程。他学习过前辈杨素兰、刘世照、刘紫美等人演出的《情探》。同辈人筱惠芬、杨云风、胡淑芳等演出《情探》时,他也认真观摩。阳友鹤观摩最多、受益最大的,是那被人称誉为“表情种子”的周慕莲的演出。阳友鹤讲道,周慕莲与他同台演出时,周慕莲的戏码往往排在“最佳时间”,不是开台的第二,便是休息前的一个,或是“压轴”。所以这是阳友鹤向周慕莲学习的好机会。如果周慕莲演《情探》,放在阳友鹤演出的戏之后。那么阳友鹤进后台后,则作快速简单的“处理”,披起衣服守在“马门口”看戏。直至看完了周的戏,才最后下妆。如果戏码离得开些,阳友鹤便从容地观摩、学习。当时,阳友鹤在艺术上建树已高,誉满巴蜀了。但他仍然抱着学而不倦的态度,甚至沿用了“马门口”学艺的传统方式。他坦然地说:“为了看周先生的《情探》,我是留了心的。”
