The resident representative office of a foreign enterprise refers to a foreign company, enterprise, and other economic organization’s handling agency in China. According to the relevant regulations, the following conditions shall apply for the registration formalities for the resident representative offices of foreign companies: 1. Representatives of foreign companies who have come to China for economic activities for a cumulative period of more than half a year; 2. Foreign economic organizations, whether profitable or not, regardless of official or semi-official or Private individuals who have come to China for economic activities for a cumulative period of more than half a year; 3. Foreign liaison personnel (excluding direct design, construction, installation, interpretation of technical resources) who have come to China to implement economic agreements and contracts.
