生物技术(Biotechnology)或称生物工程是一门日新月异的前导技术;是当今新技术革命的重要组成部分,它与信息技术和新材料技术一起,并称为世界高技术的三大支柱;是人类有效的改造生物和利用生物生产各种有用产物与服务社会的新兴科学领域。长期以来,人们应用传统的遗传技术,经过人工选择和自然选择原理,培育了大量新物种。但就实质而言,人基本上还是处于被动的,多半是靠自然恩赐。70年代以来,由于生物技术的崛起,通过基因工程、细胞工程、酶工程、发酵和蛋白质等技术与常规遗传手段紧密结合,目前已在农业上取得了较大成就,对社会经济、生态环境和人类生活发生了深刻的影响。在此,笔者乐观地对2000年的农业生物技术作一大胆的展望。
Biotechnology, or bioengineering, is a rapidly evolving leading technology. It is an important part of today’s new technological revolution. Together with information technology and new material technologies, it is called the three pillars of high technology in the world. Effectively transform the biological and use of biological production of useful products and serve the emerging social sciences. For a long time, people apply traditional genetic techniques to cultivate a large number of new species through the principles of manual selection and natural selection. But in essence, people are basically passive, mostly by natural gifts. Since the 1970s, due to the rise of biotechnology, the close integration with conventional genetic means through genetic engineering, cell engineering, enzyme engineering, fermentation and protein has made great achievements in agriculture and has made great contributions to the social economy, ecological environment and Human life has had a profound impact. Here, I am optimistic about the agricultural biotechnology in 2000 to make a bold outlook.
