Based on the projection theorem, a new L2 L∞ performance criterion for continuous systems is proposed. Compared with the existing criteria, the criterion shows the separation between the Lyapunov matrix and the system matrix, which makes it possible to apply it to uncertain systems A new parameter-dependent Lyapunov function is obtained.Using the linear matrix inequalities, a new method of full order and reduced order robust L2 L∞ state estimation for polytopic uncertain systems is derived.The proposed method can be further applied to the research of The pole-constrained L2 L∞filtering problem is compared with the existing quadratic stability-based filtering scheme, and the proposed method is less conservative
