1987年4月24日,越西县大屯乡9人农药中毒,其中男4人,女5人,年龄11～54岁。前一日,村民蔡某因家庭纠纷准备在厨房用甲胺磷自杀,其母上前争夺农药瓶,在此过程中约40ml农药洒在双方衣服及灶台,饭桌和各种餐具上,事后未彻底清洗。24日早饭后约1.5到4小时其母和进餐的其它8人相继出现头痛、胸闷、恶心、呕吐等症状(呕吐物有蒜味)。被送入医院,诊断为有机磷农药中毒。经用阿托品,维生素治疗后均痊愈
