韬奋创办由党领导的生活书店,在内部管理上有一个重要的特色是每月召开一次茶话会。这个茶话会,由韬奋亲自主持,在他出国考察和被反动派逮捕入狱时由总经理徐伯昕或总务部主任艾寒松主持。 这个茶话会的目的:是贯彻韬奋对全体职工提出的“竭诚为读者服务”的精神,做好出版工作。发扬民主,促使职工关心店务,发挥主人翁地位。向职工报告生活书店重要期刊和图书出版发行情况,如新发刊的《新生》、《大众生活》、《文学》、《译文》、《世界知识》、《妇女生活》等,如有影响的出版物《世界文库》、《青年自学丛书》、《世界学术名著译丛》、《中国的一日》和《生活日记》等等。沟通上下精神,介绍新来的同事和大家见面等,也常请著名人士来作报告,以增进职工对政治形势的了解和增进学习知识。

Communicate with one another, introduce new colleagues and meet with each other, and often invite eminent persons to make reports so as to enhance the employees’ understanding of the political situation and enhance their learning knowledge.
