由长沙橘子洲沿湘江北去20余公里,便到了“有”天下第一窑“美誉的铜官古窑。铜官古窑又称长沙铜官窑,古窑遗址在望城县铜官至书堂、石渚湖一带,为唐至五代时期有名的古窑之一,现有残存窑场多处。1978年这里出土了不少唐元和年间釉下彩绘画、题字诗文的瓷器。器形款式规格在百种以上,纹饰美观大方。铜官古窑的出土瓷器,在朝鲜、日本、印尼、伊朗、埃及也都有发现。
