医院感染控制有效性研究（Study on the Efficacy of Nosocomial Infection Control，SENIC）发现医院感染主要集中在四个方面：血液感染（Bloodstream Infections）、手术部位感染（SurgicalSite Infections）、尿路感染（Urinary Tract Infections）及呼吸机相关感染（Ventilator-Associated Infections）。
