我到Lahey医院报到的第一天,就收到一些文件,头一份就是FellowshipAgreement,是我做Research Fellow期间的待遇、双方的权利和义务等。涉及到工作、生活、保险等方面都是一清二楚,也是我工作30多年都未见过这样具有法律效力的文书。回顾在Lahey的一年,都是在严格履行签字的协议。协议内容不仅主管的教育科知道,就是常务院长也对之了如指掌,监督任何不符协议之事的发生。这些都体现了法律和法律意识在制约着人们的行为,虽然也有违法和犯罪的发生。如果没有这些法律,人们的一些行为和“美德”也不会自然产生。
The first day I checked in at Lahey Hospital, I received some documents, the first one being FellowshipAgreement, the treatment I paid during the Research Fellow, the rights and obligations of both parties, and so on. Involved in work, life, insurance, etc. are crystal clear, but also my work for more than 30 years have not seen such a legally binding instrument. Recalling the year in Lahey, all were in strict compliance with the signed agreement. The content of the agreement is not only known to the education department under charge, but also to the director who knows everything about it and supervises any non-compliance. All of these show that legal and legal awareness constrain people’s behaviors, though they also violate laws and crimes. Without these laws, some people’s behaviors and “virtues” do not come naturally.
