经过新加坡教育部的严格选拔，西北工业大学1999年、2000年、2001年分别有17名、24名、27名新生被选送到国立新加坡大学和南洋理工大学进行全额奖学金学习。这两所大学在2000年10月至2001年9月这12个月期间被《工程索引》月刊收录的论文成绩突出。在以下统计的23所国内外名校中，这两所学校被《工程索引》月刊收录在24行以上的论文篇数分别列第二位和第三位；在收录的最高行数上国立新加坡大学列第四位，南洋理工大学列第三位。下表列出2000年10月至2001年9月这十二个月期间23所国内外名校被《工程索引》月刊收录的24行以上论文篇数及收录的最高行数。
After rigorous selection by Singapore's Ministry of Education, Northwestern Polytechnical University in 1999, 2000 and 2001 respectively, 17, 24, 27 freshmen were selected to the National University of Singapore and Nanyang Technological University for a full scholarship. The papers published in the monthly “Engineering Index” between the two universities during the 12 months from October 2000 to September 2001 were outstanding. In the following statistics of the 23 domestic and foreign elite, the two schools by the “Engineering Index” magazine contains more than 24 lines in the papers were ranked second and third; in the highest number of rows on the National University of Singapore Ranked fourth, Nanyang Technological University ranked third. The following table lists the number of articles in the 24 or more papers and the highest number of entries of 23 domestic and overseas prestigious schools cited in the “Project Index” monthly magazine during the 12-month period from October 2000 to September 2001.
