谢灵运为人狂傲 ,素少交游。十五岁自会稽还归京师后 ,居乌衣巷内谢氏家族旧宅中 ,与其游者多系谢家同宗弟子。东晋义熙一、二年间 ,在族叔谢混带领下 ,谢灵运与谢瞻、谢晦、谢曜以及谢弘微等六、七人 ,在建康乌衣巷清谈玄理、商较人物、吟诗作文、宴饮歌咏 ,是为“乌衣之游”。谢灵运与其他“乌衣之游”的参与者保持着或远或近的关系 ,其后他们各自走上了不同的人生道路。就谢灵运而言 ,这段少年经历对他今后的发展以及其文学创作有着深远的影响
