对于我国在奥运会上比较有夺金势力的女子中短距离的项目而言,澳大利亚女队是我国最为强劲的对手。特别是近期的国际型大赛中,澳大利亚女队屡次夺金、破世界记录。3月的英联邦游泳比赛中,21岁澳大利亚女运动员莱顿破了多项世界记录,在上月上海世界短池锦标赛中,莱顿一人独揽5枚金牌,成为本届短池世锦赛首席“金牌大户”。这样使我们不能忽视这名优秀运动员的发展潜力及其对我国女队的威胁。
