Since the normalization of diplomatic relations between China and Japan in 1972 and the signing of the Treaty of Peace and Friendship in 1978, China has become very different from the “new starting point of friendship,” “new chapter”, and “new phase” that were expected by Chinese public opinion then Japan relations first periodically deteriorated in the period of low-amplitude oscillation from the 1980s to the 1990s and ushered in the “Yasukuni Glaciation Period” of boycotting the summit for several years in the new century. In 2012, the “Diaoyu Crisis” It not only repeated the “quasi-political diplomacy” of reluctantly making “occasional talks,” but also stimulated the deterrent gesture of armed force and highly opposed the 90% mutual feeling of the two peoples. At least for now, the resonance of historical revisionism and territorial nationalism has undermined the confidence of the Sino-Japanese relations to ease the cycle of resetting and fell into a state of “quasi-cut off” incompetent communication.
