清人蔡云诗曰:「百花生日是良辰,未到花朝一半春;红紫万千披锦绣,尚劳点缀贺花神。」朱熹《次秀野韵》亦叹云:「便赋新诗留野客,更倾芳酒酹花神。」花神究为何人?《月令广义》谓:「女夷,主春夏长养之神,即花神也。」《淮南子·天文训》载:「女夷鼓歌以司天和,以长百谷禽鸟草木。」「女夷者,主春夏长养之神,世所谓花神也。」《花木录》称:「魏夫人弟子善种花,号花神。」后来历代文人墨客玩味和吟咏百花,渐而又根据月份时令演绎出十二花神来。正所谓「日日有花开,月月有花神」。据说正月之花为梅花,司花之神乃寿阳公主。《太平御览》载:「宋武帝女寿阳
