情感是文学活动中不可缺少的要素之一。情感的真实性与虚拟性是文学活动中情感状态的两个不同层次，情感的真实性是虚拟性的前提，虚拟性是真实性的提升，由生活喜宴上升为艺术真实，包含着情感的真实性与虚拟性的辩证统一。
