著名剧作家吴祖光,1958年3月告别了妻子新凤霞和孩子,随同国务院直属各部、委、局的六百多名“老右”,乘“专列”沿着十万转业官兵的去向,踏上去往北大荒的路程.吴祖光分到八五二农场二分场六队参加劳动.后来,农垦局成立了文工团,要写一个反映十万转业官兵开发北大荒的大型话剧.剧本初稿由业余作者写出来后,因为不懂戏路子,就从“右派队”借来两位名人,其中就有吴祖光.平时少言寡语的吴祖光,早年从事戏剧事业并卓有成就.曾任国立戏剧专科学校讲
