A Brief History Review Before talking about the issue of altitude training, it is necessary to briefly review the history of altitude training. When the International Olympic Committee just decided to hold the 19th (1968) Olympic Games in Mexico at 2300 meters above sea level, it was opposed by many national sports medicine doctors. They think doing so is not good for plain country competition. Later, experts proved through experiments that most athletes adapted to altitude training. In this pioneering study, the Soviets did their job best. They found the ideal way to gradually adapt to the plateau conditions of athletes accustomed to achieving excellent results in the plains and still achieve good results. The researchers soon discovered that after a period of plateau training, their performance was significantly higher than in the plain. The news spread, plateau training center have been born.
