较之前代文学,元明清文学具有其特殊性:一是通俗文学居于主导地位,二是长篇巨著处于统治地位;就元明清文学课堂教学而言,也有其特殊性:一是中国古代文学教学的最后一个阶段,二是教学与学生的毕业论文设计同步进行。基于此,元明清文学课堂教学必须尽可能地加大学生的阅读量,使学生在阅读过程中进行艺术再创造,并在此基础上进行文学研究。所以,教师教学的过程,也就是引导学生阅读和研究的过程,传统的面面俱到、条分缕析,在这个阶段是不适应的。
