The Academic Committee for Building Steel and Steel Structures of the Ministry of Metallurgical Construction Research Institute and China Metal Society invited the President of the U.S. High-level Architectural Institute, Professor of Lehigh University, Peter Le, the Director of the Fritz Institute, from July 8 to 12, 1980. Steel structural scholars gave lectures on the new achievements and development trends of steel structure science and technology in industrial buildings in the United States. More than 240 professors, chief engineers, and engineers from various institutions of higher learning, research, design, and construction across the country attended the lecture. American scholars introduced 13 topics such as steel structure design, strut stabilization, overall stability, fatigue and fracture, steel structure connection, seismic resistance of steel structures, and industrial plant structure system.
