OBJECTIVE: To observe the effect of intermittent hypoxia on the survival and chromosomal damage of acute radiation-exposed mice. Methods: The experimental animals were randomly divided into 5 groups, which were exposed to 60 Gy of 6Gy after intermittent hypoxic preconditioning at different times. After 21 hours, the bone marrow of some mice was taken to observe the chromosome aberration rate and the rate of micronucleated cell formation. The survival rate of the remaining mice was observed and the mean survival time was calculated. Results: After 5 days hypoxia The average survival time and the rate of chromosome aberration and the rate of micronucleated cells in mice were lower than those in mice. Conclusion: Intermittent hypoxia can protect against acute radiation injury
