华北军区烈士陵园是1948年秋经朱德总司令提议,为了纪念牺牲在华北大地上的革命烈士而修建的,1954年建成并对外开放,是我国建园较早、规模较大、建筑艺术品位较高的著名烈士陵园之一。园内安葬着国际主义战士白求恩、柯棣华、民族英雄马本斋等318位团职以上革命烈士,安放着子弟兵的母亲戎冠秀等651位英雄模范、革命烈士及老红军的骨灰。主要纪念建筑物有:革命烈士纪念碑、烈士纪念
